Accelerando - Datenshi-tachi no Sasayaki Episode 4: Where to even BEGIN?! It's like someone took a bunch of crayons and scribbled all over the walls of logic and good taste!
Okay, so we have Hirohashi, the new girl who's like a walking, talking version of that creepy doll everyone's grandma has. She's obsessed with her dead brother (ew!) to the point where she's collecting body parts... or at least, people who REMIND her of those parts. It's like a really messed up game of "Go Fish," but instead of cards, it's dudes. And instead of winning, you just feel icky.
Then there's Yoshioka, who's basically a deer in headlights. Poor guy is just trying to survive high school, and suddenly he's thrust into Hirohashi's twisted game because he kinda-sorta looks like her brother. Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time! They're like peanut butter and sardines - not meant to be together!
Oh, and then there's Tomoe and Toru. They're like two bunnies who found each other in the rain... except these bunnies are REALLY into each other. It's all very dramatic and passionate, like a soap opera written by someone who just discovered what a thesaurus is. But hey, at least they seem to enjoy each other's company, right?
The whole episode is a rollercoaster of "wait, WHAT?!" moments. It's like the writers ate a dictionary of innuendos and then threw up a script. And the ending? Let's just say it left me feeling like I needed a shower... and a therapist.
It's all very ironic: Hirohashi wants to recreate her brother, but she ends up with a Frankenstein's monster of awkward encounters and stolen moments. It's a cautionary tale, kids: Don't try to bring back the dead, especially if they have a type.
