This case? It's a real head-scratcher, see? It's set in Amidahara, a district so crooked it makes the serpent in the Garden look like a straight shooter. Humans and demons mixin' it up – about as appealing as a gin and milk cocktail.
The dame at the center of it all is Annerose. They call her the Steel Witch, but she's more like a fragile doll playin' dress-up. Episode 2 starts with her all banged up, thanks to some bad business with her rival, Mayfeng – the “White Snake," though her soul's black as a moonless night. Mayfeng injects Annerose with a little somethin'-somethin' – an "estrus poison." Turns the Steel Witch into a puddle of need, a regular Jezebel.
Our supposed hero, Rikuo, is caught in the middle. He's supposed to be lookin' for a missing brother, but keeps gettin' sidetracked, if you catch my drift. One minute he's Annerose's savior, the next he's takin' advantage of her weakened state. And the less said about the monthly hymen regeneration, the better. It's like some sick cosmic joke, a never-endin' cycle of exploitation. He claims it's love, says he's "transcendin' limits," but it sounds more like the ramblings of a guilty conscience to these ears.
There's a new player on the board too – Barde Barde. Seems like everyone and their grandmammy's lookin' for the Philosopher's Stone. More trouble brewin', I tell ya. This whole thing stinks of desperation and cheap perfume – a real noir tragedy in the makin'.
