Okay, so this episode is like a soap opera for third-graders who sneak into R-rated movies. It's about this guy, Haruta, who is *crazy* in love with his childhood friend, Rio. I mean, he thinks about her like, all the time. Rio, though, is kind of like a squirrel – easily distracted and always running off with whoever has the best nuts… which in this case, is a college guy named Kaito. Kaito is like that cool older kid who knows how to do stuff like, *ahem*, "borrow" his dad’s cigarettes and skip class.
Anyway, they all go to the same school (because that's how these things work). Haruta is all nervous and sweaty because he wants to confess his undying love to Rio. He's like a volcano about to erupt, except instead of lava, it's going to be awkward stammering and maybe a love letter written in crayon.
Meanwhile, Kaito is basically treating Rio like a human jungle gym. They get it on *everywhere*: in the classroom (ew!), at Kaito’s place, probably even in the lunch line, who knows! Rio is all into it, but she also calls Haruta her "little brother" which is, like, the biggest insult ever when you're a kid in love.
Then there’s Inami, who is Rio’s friend and kind of like the responsible older sister. She's the one who keeps finding used tissues and shaking her head at all the shenanigans. She feels bad for Haruta, but she also doesn't want to get involved in the love triangle from hell.
The episode ends with Haruta finally confessing his love and Rio, shockingly, saying yes! But, and this is a big but, she does it in a way that makes it seem like she's just humoring him. Poor Haruta is over the moon, while everyone else is left thinking, "This is going to end badly."
So yeah, it's basically a train wreck of teenage hormones and bad decisions, all wrapped up in a neat little 20-minute package.
